Cooking school experiences range between half day and full day classes. 

What you'll do

All cooking school experiences feature an immersive farm experience where you are able to go onto paddocks and get up close with cattle. The cooking school includes practical workshops preparation and cooking techniques, designed for home cooks but suitable for all skill levels. 

Lunch and refreshments

All Provenance Kitchen experiences include refreshments throughout the day. You will enjoy a meal at the end of the cooking class, served with matching Tasmanian wines. 

What to bring

What to wear

This experience will be held both inside and outside. It's recommended that you wear comfortable casual clothing and footwear suitable for standing in for a few hours at a time.

The weather in the north-west of Tasmania can change suddenly, so it is recommended that you bring a warm jacket or raincoat for when you are outside on the farm. 


If you have been walking on other farms within 48 hours, it is recommended that you bring a clean pair of shoes (not worn on other farms). 

How to get there


This experience is held in Stanley, north-west of Tasmania, Australia at Highfield Historic Site.

Approx. 4hours and 40mins drive from Hobart, 2hours and 40mins from Launceston. 

This is a self-drive experience. No shuttle buses to this experience are available. 

Mobile reception

There is reasonable Telstra reception on the farm and at the cooking school. 


Guest toilet and hand washing facilities are available.
