Join Off the table for a delicious stroll around the famous Salamanca Markets, home to Hobart, Tasmania. It's one of Australia's most vibrant markets with over 300 stallholders to visit each week.
This tour will start with a short stroll along Constitution Dock, catching up on Hobart's history on our way to Salamanca. At the markets they'll be lots to see. Handicrafts, local designers, ceramics and leather goods (and a bit of trash'n treasure for good measure). You'll get to meet stallholders, hear about their products and where it comes from and enjoy delicious treats along the way.
What better way to experience the market, than to eat our way through it. So on this tour we'll visit the best local food and produce stallholders the market has to offer. Here are just a few yummy things we'll try along the way:
Warm up with a hot brew (tea or coffee) of your choice
Tuck into a wallaby burrito
Indulge in some Tasmanian black truffles
Sample something fresh from a seasonal producer
Refresh with an elderflower sparkling drink
Pick a jam of your choice to take home
Delight in some freshly baked buttery treats
After our market fix, we'll mosey our way up Kelly's steps into Battery Point and nestle in at Jackman and McRoss cafe for one final treat.
